Modern world brought a new lively meaning to this great abbreviation. It came to be devoted for those 'disturbing elements' in the premises of IIT who were ready to waste even the time devoted to their 'dear' (:*) ones to waste the time of others.
'RG's got popularity only in recent years when a wave of bear laded non-conformist historical human beings called in brief as the Administrators introduced it in IIT. Initially , there were basically the Stereotypical studious RGs , who used to empower their knowledge much before the normal ones. Then there were the Techno-Gizmo-Matic RGs who used to spread a wave of End sem disaster through online games. Apart from the more evitable lot , there were the Musical RGs , one of the most dangerous ones , who used to goofer with their woofer.
RGism , more commonly known as RGgiri , spread to almost all parts of the premises , be it the busy hostels or the quietest study room. Study Room RGs were RGs in disguise. They would bring their heavy laptops alongwith a headphone , and start playing a game or watch a video.
Then there were the Drunk RGs who used to chill out and have a peg , jus a few hours before the exams.
Many measures were and are still taken to demoralize RGs and discourage RGgiri in IIT. Firstly , a door latch was the best and simplest option , whereby disembarking the possibility of unwanted intrusion. Another way , usually followed by the hopefully studious lot was a straight path to the abode of Saraswati , the Library. Then , another strange remedy undertaken by many people was to become a Pseudo RG and suppress the RGgiri of the attacking species. This counter move became very famous due to its potential 'Jaisa Karoge Waisa Bharoge' goal.
However , some RGs can never be avoided. A Medical RG will always try to blackmail you emotionally to waste your precious time on entertaining his RGgiri. And an Exhausted RG needs words of encouragement that 'beta tu paas ho jayega' while he sleeps snoringly.
That was a brief "very effective to be put in Wikipedia' description of RG. I wish you must have enjoyed this little RGgiri of mine. :)
